Overview
As the name implies, ScienceSim is a program that can simulate
science matters such as simulating electron configuration for atoms, calculating
proton number, neutron number or the electron number of an element when either one
of them, and Mass number is known or vise-versa. ScienceSim is packaged with four
modules which contains simulators for four distinct sub-topics of high school general science
and they are; Atoms and Molecules, DNA and Genetics, Physics and, Stone and Rock Analysis.
Users often mistakenly describe ScienceSim as an "Interactive"
version of traditional text books. Obviously it is not true
and ScienceSim is by no means designed to replace traditional
text books and is a supplement to them. While traditional text
books serve as good academic reference to the student, ScienceSim
provides students with practical interactive simulations,
which can simulate and visualize the Science concepts based
on the user input to variables. It is better described as a
"Science Simulator" rather than a reference material for the
students.
So what is the benefit of students using ScienceSim? It is specifically
designed for high school students who wish to understand the
principles and concepts of Science better. ScienceSim provide
practical experience to the students after they have studied
by the books or learnt from the teachers thus they'll gain better
knowledge of the subject. For example, DNA Punnet Square simulator,
included with ScienceSim can help visualize students how a DNA
punnet square can be created, by letting students enter different

So what in it for the teachers? Teachers can use ScienceSim
to teach students science more visually. When they teach science
in the classroom, they can use ScienceSim and let the students
experience what they've just taught, in the practical way.
Nearly three years ago, we'd have released ScienceSim but we've
been caught up with business dilemmas and unable to release
this software to the market. Now the wait is over! With new
features added, students can use ScienceSim to gain better knowledge
on the subjects of science and eventually gain better grades
in the exams.
